Lighting designer and multidisciplinary artist.
Born 1990, Barcelos. Currently in Porto.
Graduated in Sound and Light from ACE (2012) and in Digital Pro Marketing from FLAG (2018). Alongside his professional career, he has continued to value knowledge, training in the areas of cultural management and production, ephemeral design, sustainable architecture and neuromarketing.
He regularly works on artistic installations, lighting design for shows and the intersection of light and architecture.
More than a dozen works include the installations DEUS EX HOMO EX MACHINA (Centro para os Assuntos da Arte e Arquitectura, 2023), Asynchronous 1.0 (Casa Varela, 2021) and the first solo exhibition Sensitive Content, commissioned and presented at Galeria Birra in Porto (2020).
In 2021 and 2020, he won creative grants from gnration's Summer Labs with the works O Pesar and Entropia, respectively.
In the performing arts, in 2023 he was invited to design the scenic device and lighting for the play Treat Your Self!, directed by Maria Luís Cardoso, with the support of the GDA Foundation and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. The previous year, he shared the creation of the Chatroullete 8.3 project with actress Inês Garrido, supported by the Direção-Geral das Artes, under the Programa de Apoio a Projectos - Procedimento Simplificado.
Since 2018 he has been part of the creative team of director Renata Portas' company Público Reservado, with regular co-productions with the Teatro Municipal do Porto.
Between the language of installation and scenography, he created the scenic devices Goldenphonia, commissioned for Rui Souza's Dada Garbeck project, and OBSERVE/ABSORV for the Fenda Festival in 2021.
It was also the year of his consolidation as an audiovisual performer, taking to the stage with Surma, Mira Quebec and Rito ou Rita.
In 2021 he founded the Associação Cem Metros Sereia, taking over its leadership, with the aim of researching and developing new languages in the relationship between lighting and the sciences.
